Beauty by Chelsea's

With fall fast approaching, I cannot help but worry about my hair and skin losing their summer shine and turning a little dull. The Midwest can take a toll on a lady's look. I have a little secret to keep your summer shine all winter long. Coconut oil. Yes, that is right. While I love a little coconut oil in my baking, it is also an excellent beauty product .I love Spectrum Naturals Organic Coconut Oil. It can be used on cuticles, dry knees and elbows; however, my favorite place to use it is in my hair.

Here's what you do:
  • Scoop two tablespoons of coconut oil into your hands.
  • Rub oil in between your hands to turn it into a liquid.
  • Smooth over hair from crown to ends. Be sure to avoid roots and pay special attention to the ends.
  • Wrap hair into a bun on top of your head and warm with a hair dryer for 15 minutes or wrap with a warm towel for half an hour.
  • Hop in the shower and shampoo as usual. You may need to do this step twice. Always rinse with cooler water to be sure that the hair cuticle closes.
  • Dry and style hair as usual.

You will notice silky and smooth locks immediately. The oil routine can be done as many as two times per week or when you notice the winter air tolling your tresses.

P.S. We were not paid or prompted by Spectrum Naturals. We just really love their coconut oil. :)
