Ways to Wear: Faux Fur

The love of faux fur has not left high-fashion magazines and ads for Winter 2013. Don't be afraid of it! There are plenty of ways to wear this novelty (yes, even in Sioux Falls, SD) without feeling 'silly' on the street. Let's break down these photos, shall we?

Outfit 1: I'm actually really in love with this whole outfit. I love the oxblood red that's found here as well. Another on point trend. Pair the chunky-ness of the cable knit sweater with the chunky-ness of the fur vest and then keep the rest of your outfit nice and simple - neutral. Hey!! Another way to wear that winter maxi! I'd replace the strappy heal with a boot, though. 

Outfit 2: Casual and chic. Here we see again mixing dressy elements with more casual pieces like denim with distress. I love the double-breasted coat as well. Talk about practice for the weather up here!

Outfit 3: YUMMY...here's the type of layering I am obsessed with. The idea of wearing a brown vest with an otherwise black outfit really strikes my fancy. Mixing neutrals is never a bad thing! Just, make sure your shoes are the same color as the BOTTOM half of your outfit - as shown here, black flats with black tights. I would replace the scarf with a red or mustard color, though, personally. Rather than the navy. 

Always remember that as long as you're comfortable in your own skin, you can truly rock whatever you want.
