Ways to Wear It: Dressing Your Rectangle Shape

| Different Body Shapes HERE. |
Revisiting body shapes, we will touch on dressing your rectangle body today. Chances are, if you're rectangle shaped you: are likely athletic, have little to no difference, measurement wise, from your shoulders through your hips but you're still slender.
The person that comes to mind when referring to a rectangle shape is definitely Cameron Diaz. She's athletic, small busted and slender. She's also beautiful so embrace your shape! Here are some tips and tricks to balance out your broad shoulders and add a waist too.
Goal: Emphasize your small arms & legs. Create a waistline.
Heeeyyyy lady Cameron. ;) We want to add volume to your hips. In doing so, you'll be able to create a waistline with the use of a belt. A tulip skirt, something a-line with volume or a large print will work best for you. Or a pencil skirt - paired with a peplum will look wonderful. Peplums create a waistline on their own and since you don't have wide hips, these will look great on you. Make sure you're pulling it UP and making your bottom garment a medium to high rise. A statement necklace will draw attention up, as usual, and help to add volume to your bust. A maxi dress with flowy volume on the bottom will also do the trick. There's no question that maxis look great on everyone but make sure that you're placing a belt where the skirt meets the upper portion of the dress. This will cinch you in and create a waist thanks to the billowy skirt. Something more casual? Layering pieces will become you're go-to tactic for casual wear. A structured heavy statement jacket will fill you out a little on top and a pair of skinny jeans that are mid to high-waisted will help break up your boxyness. Jeans with a slight flare will work as well. They will mirror the shape of your jacket and create a long line that's balanced. <3
What is the one piece in your closet that you just can't live without? For me, it's my collection (I guess that's kindof cheating) of skater dresses. Make a million outfits out of one basic.
