Ways to Wear It : Headbands

I hope I'm not the only one that still loves a good headband. Their versatility allows for me to ensure that my hair looks decent even if I've missed a couple washes. Honestly, my hair is way better on day two or three anyway.
Straight, curly, long or short - everyone has a way to use these babies and LOVE them.

Perhaps you have a hair idol. Mine is Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester) and she just so happens to fit into this post like a Michael Kors bag fits on my arm. If you are as obsessed with Gossip Girl as I am, you'll know that Blair pretty much finishes off every outfit with a headband. She's right. If that's your thing, they don't have to be reserved for the gym and lake only. Let's check out some styles:

Fan-girl with me for a minute and check out these effortless styles. Don't be afraid of leaving your bangs out, tying a chunky bow to the side or just simply throwing your hair into a pony-tail. If you're going for a chunkier headband, much like the ones shown, keep your necklace on the lighter side. Too much of a distraction around your face will take away from you. We don't want that. If your headband is a simple braid, string of pearls or piece of lace, knock it out of the park with a statement necklace and a pair of stud earring.

We've also seen the rise of this trend over the course of the last year and personally, I don't see this going anywhere anytime soon. I LOVE doing this to my hair and use it often on my second day locks. If you have short hair (like mine) I usually do this with slightly damp hair - just by brushing through my hair with a damp comb. I find that the headband will 'stick' to your hair/hairspray this way and keep it in place all day. It will also help with those pesky little baby hairs (bane of my existence).

If you have long hair I may suggest curling it a bit first. With a large barreled iron. You'll be putting it up anyway so it doesn't have to look good but the curls will give your hair a bit more spring and it will be easier to wrap around the headband. This really is as easy as it looks and after a couple tries you'll be a professional.
