Ways to Wear: Transitional Scarves
I hit the jackpot on Pinterest this morning regarding scarves. We just received a nice shipment of these babies in the store and they'll only keep coming as the season progresses. As Fall nears, you may soon notice my love affair with scarves. Only matched, perhaps, by coffee, boots, plaid and sock-buns. But, how does one tie a scarf in different ways to accommodate different days of the week! Sassy and slouchy? Tight and tamed? The possibilities are endless. Here is what I have come up with for you:
Perhaps the most popular and certainly one of the most practical. The loop-n-through is my go-to style if I'm wearing a scarf with the intention to keep warm. I like this option with my outerwear and keep it nice and tight to my neck if the goal is warmth.
Here's a fun little alternative to the basic loop-n-through. They even consider that it's for 'the adventurous'. All you'll be doing here is splitting the ends of your scarf and re-tucking them in again.
This will create an adorable and unique (almost) braid sort of situation.
Then there's the loop with a knot. I LOVE putting this style under a casual jacket: leather or denim. This is a great way to accessorize in the cooler months. Searching for that perfect little pop of color? This will be your choice. Feeling frisky? How about a little metallic on that scarf. Ditch the necklace and wear chunky earrings instead.
Much like its cousin, the loop-n-through with knot, this option is a great universal way to wear your scarf. What's the difference? Here you'll need a longer scarf since you'll be pulling it through more times than before. Are you super into the chunky look? I know I am. This is probably your best option if that's what you're trying to achieve. I really like throwing a long and super sparkly necklace UNDER my scarf if I'm wearing it this way. When you walk, you'll be able to see a slight sparkle of the jewels peeking out from under your scarf. Just a little eye-catching is all. :)
Here's a cute option for a square-shaped scarf. I especially like this type of scarf paired along with blouses and basic tops. Chances are, your square scarves are a bit dressier and more formal. This style is perfect for the office if you're feeling a bit chilly or need to add some color to your black basic button-up.
Finally, the dub wrap. The queen of queens for scarf-wearing. MY FAV! Simple and adorable - applicable with both open-ended scarves and infinity scarves. This look is well supported with your maxi dress transitioning and adorable under jackets. I love this look because it also still allows for a long necklace to be worn underneath and you'll still be able to see it. Need to be warmer? Tie those ends together in a knot.
