DIY: Advent Calendar

blog.chelseasboutiqueonline.com
Add this easy little craft to your holiday DIY list. You will need these simple things to construct this: 1) a branch - should be easy to grab this time of year 2) lunch bags 3) twine 4) paperclips 5) paint 6) number stencils 7) and goodies!

Step 1: Number the bags. Stencils will make this easier. Freehand it if you're up for a challenge. When the paint has dried, fill each bag with a little goodie of your choice.

Step 2: Lay out your gridded calendar.

Step 3: Laying out your grid made it easier to now measure the length of your twine.

Step 4: Use a paperclip to measure the amount of space between each bag. This will help when you attach them to the twine.

Step 5: Take your paperclip and shove it right through the center of your piece of twine. It should stay nicely in place.

Step 6: Clip the bags on, (if they're heavy, you may need to poke a hole through) then make sure they're all tied together and onto your branch.

Be creative with what you choose to put in your bags! If it's for the kids, maybe you want to keep it school supply themed? Or Christmas themed - bible versus? If you're teaming up with your sweetheart, maybe you'll split the bags even and odd and fill them with something useful for one another. The possibilities are endless and this is a fun and engaging way to celebrate the holiday season. Let the Christmas countdown begin!
