#GoRed for Women
Whoever said that Heart Disease was a 'man's disease,' clearly didn't take the greater sex into consideration. Since 1949, the American Heart Association has spent more than $3.3 billion on research to increase our knowledge about cardiovascular diseases and stroke.
This year is the 12th anniversary of Go Red for Women, a global campaign started by the American Heart Association to dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number ONE killer of women. Woah. Go Red for Women is a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
The movement encourages awareness of the issue of women and heart disease, and also moves as an action to save more lives. It harnesses the energy, passion and power have to band together and collectively wipe out the disease. It challenges them to know their risks for heart disease and take action to reduce their personal risk. It also give them the tools they need to lead a heart-healthy life.
And here at Chelsea's Boutique, that's a movement we can get behind.
In the spirit of raising awareness, Chelsea's Boutique will be holding an in-store "Red-Out' on February 6th, 2015. Stop into the store to take a photo with your red garb on and get 25% off any item of your choice! Share your photo to your social media channels using the national hashtag #gored and tag @chelseasboutiquesd.
So come on in. Let's save some lives.
