Fashionista in a Small Town

Being a fashionista in a Small Town...

Meet my small town, meet Chamberlain, South Dakota...

I have seen Tyra Banks look down at Mount Rushmore and laugh at the people of South Dakota and their  sense of fashion and I thought by myself that a girl with such a big "bootay" should be careful, the people of South Dakota has heart and soul.

The people of South Dakota also has lots of small towns. How do we prove Tyra Banks wrong? I decided today to put my best foot forward, put my best outfit on and walk the streets of this small town and hear what the citizens  of this  town has to say about fashion, and oh did they prove Tyra Banks wrong!

Let me go back to the week after Halloween 2011. I went to the bank on a Tuesday morning to find myself next to "Farmer Brown" asking me if I was still wearing my Halloween Outfit! I had to count to 10, cause oh boy that "Farmer Brown" was going to get it from me, him and his old......oh and that was exactly where I stopped. I am a better person. I am NOT a "Farmer Brown".

I am Leana, and this is what I wore today...

My shorts, tights, boots, jacket, scarf, fedora and I hit the road. It was not that easy! I met Cal, I did chase him down, yeah I did run after him till I scared the living daylights out of him. He gave me his name, gave me his opinion on shorts and tights together, it was not a good one and he cussed at the idea of me taking his pic. This was not going to be an easy task. Oh my dear old Cal.

There were several men after that I scared away. Time to start talking to some ladies. The sweet, sweet girls of Chamberlain.

First there was "Flower Power" Jessica, (she is not going to like the "flower power" idea)

Jessica loved my outfit, she actually wore same outfit, only sequins shorts with tights and knee high boots. I asked her if she would wear that outfit in Chamberlain, and she said "NO"

The thing is, we have so many people coming to the store and so many of them will not buy an outfit exactly of the fact that they are too scared of wearing in Chamberlain, a small town. That is why I got inspired today to do this. I need to loosen people up, and I had no idea that the ladies of Chamberlain would help me out so much, I realized that they feel exactly the same as I do...

Meet Donna...

Donna loved my outfit! I love Donna! Donna thinks that a small town needs someone to lead the way and others will follow. A small town needs someone to make a fashion statement so other people can see it and get motivated. Donna thinks with a store like Chelsea's Boutique people should not be scared of dressing fashionable!

Ok, to keep attention I will put in the pic of the only guy who was interested in talking to me. Meet Todd...how handsome is he?

Todd liked my jacket, Todd liked my boots, Todd could not get used to my tights in between! He said that if that is the outfit his wife would choose he would support her fashion, same for his daughters. What a great guy!

Then I found Megean...

Hey Megean!!! Turn around!

Look how cute she is! Megean thinks you should just go for it! Be who you are, and wear what you want!

Long story short. With the mentality of this small town, Tyra Banks can go jump in a river! The women of Chamberlain are Fashionistas!

BTW, I have a lot more to say, but I am loosing your interest. My blog is getting to long!
I thought today I was going to get "THE LOOK", but all I got was support and love for fashion.

Cheers!
Leana
